We're excited to introduce you to the newest round of projects and initiatives, as well as upcoming events for the holidays and term 2!

If you have content suggestions, or would like to publish a segment, get in touch with us via email, Facebook, Instagram, or Mastodon (or leave a comment below if you're on the web version).

Meetings

Due to the exam block and uni holidays, we won't be holding meetings until Term 2 commences on the 29th of May. The day and time are yet to be decided.

Queer Space Access

Anyone who filled out the QC registration form before April 24th now has 24/7 access to the Queer Space on Level 9 of the June Griffith Building (F10, next to Law Library) at Kensington campus. YOU WILL NEED YOUR ID CARD TO ENTER THE ROOM. If you have issues, contact us via email.

Upcoming Events

Lesbian Visibility Day Roundy Party with SapphoSoc

April 27, 6:30pm at the Roundhouse.

Join UNSW SapphoSoc and UNSW Queer Collective at The Roundhouse as we celebrate Lesbian Visibility Day!

Tickets available on Eventbrite. This event is 18+.

IDAHOBIT with the PGC

In partnership with the Postgraduate Council, we're running a joint networking (read: free food) event in week 1 next term! Dates are yet to be confirmed, but if you're interested, keep an eye on our socials.

Current Projects

Gender Neutral Bathrooms

This campaign will be continuing throughout the year. We're currently working with UNSW EDI and the Science Faculty to convert the bathroom near the Queer Space to be gender-neutral, and we've recieved the backing of the UNSW SRC in pushing this campaign. More information is available on the Project Page.

We also have a blog post about the best ways to get involved with the campaign.

New Queer Space

Over the last few years, QC members have noticed several issues regarding maintenance and potential safety hazards with the current Queer Space. As a result, the Queer Officers are lobbying UNSW and Arc to provide a space in the more modern facilities at Kensington, where buildings were designed with accessibility in mind.

SRC Crisis Spaces

The Queer Collective is starting a new initiative in Term 2 to create emergency short-term accommodation for UNSW students.
